Herbert Meadows

CARTERSVILLE — Herbert Meadows, 90, Cartersville, GA., formerly of North Georgia for many years, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, September 12, 2019. Born February 26, 1929 to the late Willie B. & Margaret Oliver Meadows, Vera Meadows. He was also preceded in death by sister, Katie Johnson and brother, Johnny Meadows. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army and was a machinist by trade. He was a faithful member of Gateway Church of Cartersville where he served as usher, greeter and always made people feel welcomed and loved. He was an avid knife collector and always loved cooking for his family. Survivors are his wife, Juanita Meadows; daughter, Gene (Rev. Sammy) Burgess; grandson, Andrew (Janie Beth) Burgess; two great-grandchildren, Cash and Boaz Burgess all of Cartersville, GA; sisters, Ethel Thurman and Lina Benefield; brothers, Howard, Talmadge, Wayne and Tremon Meadows, all of Alabama. Services will be held Wednesday, September 18, at 12:00 pm at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Rev, Sammy Burgess and Rev. Joe Nix officiating, Burial will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. Memorial contributions may be made to Gateway Church Building Fund, PO Box 1085, Cartersville, GA 30121.
