Maureen Joan LaPoint ne McCabe, 63, passed away July 28, 2010 in Chattanooga. Maureen graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1964. She married her childhood sweetheart, John T. LaPoint in 1965 and spent 45 years happily married. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.She is survived by her three children, John J. LaPoint, Kimberly A. Dixon and Janeanne M. LaPoint, all of Chattanooga. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Madeline Pittman, Tyler Dixon, Caitlin Dixon, Alexandria Schafer, Megan Schafer and Zachary Schafer. Maureen is also survived by her mother, Elsie Korbas, and her four brothers and three sisters, Morris "Butch" McCabe, Gary Grigalus, Diane F. Vaughn, Linda A. Purser, Thomas F. McCabe, Michael F. McCabe and Rhonda Tompkins and 21 nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace with a Memorial Service immediately following.
