ROSSVILLE Venice Clark Henderson, 80, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, July 28, 2010.A native of Alabama, Venice has lived in the Rossville area for over 45 years. She was of the Baptist faith and was actively involved in gospel ministry with her husband and family. They sang in Churches, for revivals and on the radio for many years as the Henderson family, traveling throughout the southeast.She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. J.D. Henderson; parents, Lee and Mary Emma Coots Clark; son-in-law, Ed Phillips; one brother, two sisters, and three grandchildren.She is survived by seven children, Judy Wooten (Johnny), of Trenton, Ga., Janie Henderson, of Dallas, Texas, Diane Phillips, of Moncks Corner, S.C., Wanda Altman (Richard) of Ringgold, Ga., John Henderson (Vickie), of LaFayette, Ga., Ron Henderson (Brenda), of Rossville, and Ricky Henderson, of Rossville; two brothers, Jerry and Howard Clark, of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with Rev. Johnny Wooten officiating.In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to The Ronald McDonald House in Chattanooga.Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
