DECATUR Una Womac Scott, age 83 passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Bradley Co. Healthcare in Cleveland. She was a native of Meigs County and a longtime resident of Chattanooga, before returning to Meigs County in 1986. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur and retired after 23 years of service for the Hamilton County School System. A daughter of the late Lloyd and Thelma Johnson Womac, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Roy Edwin Scott Sr.; one sister, Betty Faye Thompson and one brother, Ray Womac. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Anna S. and James Fisher of Ooltewah, Joyce and James Allen of Birchwood; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Roy Edwin Jr. and Mary Scott of Decatur, George Wayne Scott of Decatur, John Franklin and Deborah Scott of Decatur; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Novella Sharitts of Knoxville; one brother, Billy Gene Womac of Charleston; one sister-in-law, Juanita Womac of Charleston; Several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Borders officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chris Fisher, Tim Fisher, Daniel Allen, John Allen, Jason Bostic, Allan Applehauns, and Wayne Scott. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
