CHICKAMAUGA Faye Irene Wood Brogdon, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011. She had lived most of her life in the Rainsville, Ala., area, before moving to North Georgia in 1967. She was a woman that the Lord blessed with many talents she was a seamstress, a poet, a song writer, an author and an artist. She was also blessed with a green thumb, which allowed her to grow beautiful flowers, as well as vegetable gardens and was also a part time public worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Frank Brogdon.Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Betty Thomas, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Barbara and (Clayton) Hill, of Tennessee; three sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and (Brenda) Brogdon, of Attalla, Ala., Tony and (Amy) Brogdon, of Rossville, Ga., and Marty and (Shelby) Brogdon, of Rogersville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. EST at Trinity Methodist Cemetery, also known as Burnt Church Cemetery in Rainsville, Ala. The family will begin receiving friends after 3 p.m. today and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
