Charles Nelson


ROSSVILLE Charles Nelson, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011.He was born in Rockwood, Tenn., but had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of his life and was a member of Gospel Chapel in Rossville. He was the owner and operator of Nelson Electric for more than 45 years before retiring in 2002, he enjoyed deep sea fishing and loved his dog, Chipper. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him.He was preceded in death by two stepsons, Richard and James Troxell; and granddaughter, Rachel Troxell.Survivors include his loving wife of more than 56 years, Jean Nelson of Rossville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gerald Nelson of Menlo, Ga., and Mike (Loretta) Nelson of Rossville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and (Charles) Green of Ringgold, Ga., Rhonda (Chris) Theis, of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Anita (David) Jones, of Ringgold; two brothers; six sisters; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Pastor Noah Yarber officiating.Burial will be private.The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. Sunday and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.Online guest book at by W.
