Benny McBryar, 60, of Hixson, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at his residence.He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Lookout Valley area. He was a one time member of Chamberlain Memorial Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school teacher and choir member and was currently a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of McBryar Brothers Construction. His passions in life were his family, friends, working and fishing.He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carrie McBryar; two brothers, L.A. and Andrew McBryar; and sister, Juanita McBryar.Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Susan McBryar; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Lee Ann McBryar, of Chattanooga; four brothers, Homer McBryar, of Chattanooga, Roy McBryar, of Cottonwood, Ala., Clyde McBryar, of Chattanooga, and J.R. McBryar, of Chattanooga; two sisters, Annita Hicks, of Chattanooga and Freida Rosenbaum, of Harrison; granddaughter, Ava McBryar of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Hospice of Chattanooga at 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416, or to Philadelphia Baptist Church, 4501 Oak Hill Road, Chattanooga, TN 37416.Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Fincher officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Navy.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.The family will receive friends from 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
