Donald G. Pendleton, 78, of Ooltewah went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, April 5, 2012.A longtime resident of Hamilton County, Don was retired from Combustion Engineering after 31 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a Master Chief during Korea.He was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church.Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Diane Pendleton; three sons, Bruce (Jennifer) Pendleton, Harrison, David (Natalie) Pendleton, Soddy-Daisy and Damon (April) Pendleton, Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Danielle, Derek, Stephen and Alyssa.Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Daugherty and Rev. Jerry Atkins officiating.Burial will follow at National Cemetery with Ira York, Don Perry, Craig Bryan, Jim Payne, Joe mathis, Richard Wilson and Wayne Lamb serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Agape Sunday school class.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr., Chattanooga 37421; or the Woodland Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 7501 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga 37421.Visit to share words of comfort to the family.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
