Ceth N. "Joe" Kelley, 94, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012.Born in Petros, Tenn., Joe came to Chattanooga at the age of 8. He graduated from Central High School in 1936. He has been a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church since 1941, having served as Superintendant of Youth Division, Cubmaster of CubPack 3009 and many other offices within the church. He also served as secretary of Brainerd Masonic Lodge #736 F&AM and later as secretary and president of Dalewood Lions Club. He retired from Combustion Engineering in 1982.He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Kelley Sr; eight brothers; and one sister.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lillian B. Kelley; daughter and son-in-law, Louise (Robert) Tatum; grandson, Vernon Ceth Kelley; and great-grandson, William Ceth Kelley; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 23, in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Genevieve DeHoog officiating.Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.Family will receive friends Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
