OAK RIDGE Charles E. Sloan, 63, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012.He was born Sept. 24, 1948 in Chattanooga.He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Sloan and mother, Frances Bell Sloan. Charles was a Chemical Operator at Babcock & Wilcox Y-12 plant of Oak Ridge for 31 years. He also served as an usher at Oak Valley Baptist Church.He enjoyed traveling, exercising, spending time on his computer and relaxing on his front-porch. As a 33rd Mason he had a real passion for the Masonic Order and held leadership rolls in many Houses. Charles was a loving husband, stepfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife, Maudine. He also leaves to cherish his memory his friend and brother, Robert Sloan and wife, Earnestine; and a very dear uncle, AC Congo, of Cincinnati Ohio.Charles was a lovable person, never complained and was a real friend to all.The Funeral will be held at noon Saturday, April 28, at Oak Valley Baptist Church, 194 Hampton Road, Oak Ridge, with the Rev.
