Pastor, Bro. Billy Parker entered into heavenly rest at his home on Saturday April 28, 2012. He was born on March 8, 1943 in Larksville Ala. He grew up in Huntsville until he was about 13 years old and then moved with his family to Griffith, IN. where he met his wife Sharon in High School. As a zealous young man, he continually prayed "god, let me do something for you". And in February of 1974, God sent him to be the Pastor of a little white block church, the Tiftonia Holiness Church. After being given the oversight of such wonderful people, Bro. Billy worked as Gods under shepherd, to faithfully serve his congregation for over 38 years.He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Sharon Parker; children, Tim and (Kay) Parker, Melinda and (Carnice) Taber, Melissa and (Chris) Griggs, Melita and (Brian) Whiting; Sisters and Brothers in law, Barbara and (Bill) Ruder, and Terri and (Jeff) Paul; grandchildren, Kristi and (Tim) Voiles, Tim and (Natasha) Parker, Joshua and (Tonya) and Katrese Taber, Hunter, Grant, Parker and Peyton Whiting; Great-granchildren Cannon and Lincoln Voiles and Allison and Anniston Parker; Several Nieces and Nephews and a host of other loving relatives, his church family and dear friends.The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. today through till Tuesday, May 1, at 1 p.m. at the Tiftonia Holiness Church, 144 Browns Ferry Road. The funeral, also at the church, will be held Tuesday, May 1, at 2 p.m. with Interment following at Lakewood Memory Gardens West in Tiftonia. Bro. Troy Lawson and Bro. Aaron Wooten officiating and Bro. Dallas Walker saying the prayer. Valley Funeral Home in Stevenson, Ala. is in charge of Arrangements.
