Terry D. Yates, 57, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012.He was a retired city of Chattanooga policeman of over 26 years. He was a founding member of Unwanted Motor Cycle Club, consisting of retired or active Police, Firemen, Military and select civilians.Terry was a great humanitarian and a pillar of his community.Terry is survived by his son, Chad Yates; grandsons, Landon and Lundon Yates; brother, Dale Yates and sister-in-law Twila; sister, Joy Yates; sister Brenda and brother in-law, Robert Camacho; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Terry will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was an inspiration to many for his gentle heart undying loyalty and contagious smile. The lives he touched have been changed forever.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Abbas House, 5208 Hixson Pike.The interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family and view the memorial tribute.The Yates family request in lieu flowers, donations be made to the Terry Yates memorial fund at First Volunteer Bank.
