Freddie Blanks, 67, of Hixson passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012. He was of the Church of God faith and he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He retired from DuPont. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed motorcycle riding and carving. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Carrie Blanks; brothers and sisters, David, Clarence, Vernon, Jerry, Hazel, Lola, Harold.Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Diane Blanks; son, Brunson (Kristol) Blanks; daughter, Valerie (Matt) Stubblefield; brothers and sisters, Bennie, Mickey, Jimmy, Linda, Shirley; grandchildren, Wyatt, Josie, Nathan; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. today, Aug. 4, in the chapel with Rev. Terry Dehart officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
