FORT OGLETHORPE Ross Everette Smith, 60, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012.He had lived in the North Georgia area for the last 20 years and was of the Protestant faith. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and just loved life.He was preceded in death by his father, Everette Smith and grandparents, Oscar and Lillian Helton.Survivors include his mother, Peggy Helton Ireton, of Chickamauga, Ga.; daughter, Leslie Elaine Smith, of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers and sisters in-law, Michael (Jackie) Smith, of Garden Grove, Calif., and Scott (Becky) Ireton, of Hunnington Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Beverly Ross, of Kingman, Arizona and Susan Ireton, of Chickamauga, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be private and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.Arrangements by W.L.
