Eunice Thompson Acuff, 94, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 10, 2012, in Chattanooga.She was born Nov. 18, 1917, in Black Oak, Ark., to the late Alfred Lee and Fannie Mae Caldwell Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Vernon Cowart, E.B. Skates and Alvin Acuff; son, Richard Cowart; and stepdaughter, Betty Stone.She is survived by her son, Gene (Janet) Skates, of Kingsport; daughter, Nancy Skates, of Ooltewah; brother, John Caldwell, of Alpharetta, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Norma Cowart, of Brentwood; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.A memorial service is planned for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Greens Lake Road Church of Christ.
