SOUTH PITTSBURG Mrs. Emma Jean Hudson, 65, a longtime resident of South Pittsburg, died at Grandview medical Center, on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012.Emma was born in Gadsden, Ala., on April 22, 1947, to the late John Henry and Labertia Jelks Nelson. Her son, Brandon Hudson also preceded her in death.She was a faithful member of Elm Avenue Church of Christ in South Pittsburg. She had worked as a Nurse's Aide both in Long Island, N.Y. and at Rivermont Nursing home in South Pittsburg.She is survived by her husband, Lee T. Hudson, South Pittsburg; two sons, Darrell Lee(Briana) Hudson, Bay City, Mich., and Timothy Dewayne (Stephanie) Hudson, South Pittsburg; stepson, Anthony Dewayne Hudson, Flint, Mich.; three grandchildren, Darrell Lee Hudson II, South Pittsburg, Olivia G. Hudson, Jasper and Terrell Dewayne Hudson, Flint, Mich.; four sisters, Lucille Pinson, Anniston, Ala., Johnnie (Wallace) Pinson, Glenco, Ala., Bertha (Tyrone) Snow and Brenda Alexander, Gadsden, Ala.; three aunts, Josephine Jelks, Doris Jelks and Bulah Lawerance; and two uncles, Charles Jelks and Clem (Dorothy) Jelks Jr., all of Gadsden, Ala.; 27 nieces and nephews; 37 great-nieces and nephews; seven sisters-in-laws; seven brothers-in-law all of the Hudson family and a host of friends.The family will receive friends one hour before the service at 2 p.m. CDT on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, with Brother Ed Powell officiating.To send online condolences visit www.tatefh.com.Arrangements by Tate Funeral Home, Jasper, Tenn., 423-942-9500.
