Cynthia Barbara McCoy Tripp, 93, of Chattanooga went home peacefully to be with her Lord, Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012.Cynthia loved to garden, read, travel and was very compassionate towards animals. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her many friends. She was never without a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. Cynthia will be deeply missed by all who knew her.She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Watts Sunday School Class.She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Tripp; Father, Luther "Spot" McCoy; Brother, John McCoy; sister, Robin Cuthalion; and grandson, Michael Vineyard.Survivors are her daughters, Shirley Vineyard, Judy (Melvin) McDowell and Jimmie S. (Jack) Holloway; sisters, Julia Buckner and Janet M. McNeil; brother, James M. McCoy; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Scott Young officiating.Pallbearers will be Brian McDowell, Jim Vineyard, Phil Grubb, Gary Martin, Chuck Summers and Melvin McDowell.The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, especially Courtney Johnson, Ruby Byrd and Sheila Hales for their compassionate care given to our Mother.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Temple Baptist Church Watts Sunday School Class or a charity of your choice.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words fo comfort and view the memorial tribute.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
