Jessie Lee Woodard, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at a local hospital.She was formerly employed by Erlanger Hospital and was a member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Lee Byron; mother, Abbie Byron Hurst; and sister, Ernestine Smith.Survivors include her sons, Larry D. Sutton, Dave Sutton, both of Milan, Ga., and Lavert Woodard, of Atlanta; daughters, Verlene Brown, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Rosalind S. Visher, of Ontario, Calif.; six grandchildren; brothers, Elton Hurst and Alner Hurst, both of Milan, Ga.; sisters, Vera Jordan, Dorothy Sampson, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lorene Byron, of Miami, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren; dear cousins, Marvella (James) Kirkling, Annie McDowell; and many other cousins and friends.The body will lie-in-state on from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Taylor Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at noon.Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.
