CHICKAMAUGA Betty Jane Chambers, 64, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012.Graduated from LaFayette High School in 1966. She was a member of LaFayette First Church of God. Betty Jane retired from Walker County government after 26 years of service. She also has worked for the past 12 years at the LaFayette Wal-Mart where she was known as B.J. She had a passion for gardening, working puzzles and was an avid reader.Preceded in death by parents, Buster Hurley Sr. and Mae Belle Webb; brothers, Buster Hurley Jr., Joe Bob Hurley, Charles Hurley and David Hurley.Survived by daughters, Jennifer (Brian)Walker, of Chickamauga and Jessica (Jason) Young, of Rossville; son, Robbie Chambers; ex-husband, Charley R. Chambers; brothers, Max Hurley, of Calhoun and James Hurley, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Justin Young, Ryan Young, Alyssa Young and Kelsey Walker a multitude of nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral from the Wallis Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday. Service by speakers, Geri Chambers and Jimmie Duvall.Pallbearers are Phillip Hurley, Keith Hurley, Justin Young, Tommy Wiley, Leon Brown and Robbie Chambers.Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Young and Willie Cross.Interment in Garmany Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p..m. today.The arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home of LaFayette.
