Dr. Dr. William "Bill" O'neal Campbell, 84, of Chattanooga, formerly of the Copper Basin area passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Memorial Health Care Systems of Chattanooga.Dr. Campbell was born May 22, 1928 in McCaysville, Ga., the son of the late Martin Hoyt and Pauline Kimsey Campbell. He graduated from Copperhill High School in 1946 and from the University of Tennessees Med School in 1962. He was a family practice doctor in Copperhill from 1965 to 1976 and served as Chief of Staff for the Copper Basin Hospital in the 1960s, delivering more than 300 babies from 1961 to 1977. He was a staff physician for TVA in Chattanooga from 1976 to retirement in 1994.He was preceded in death by brothers, Martin Hoyt Campbell Jr, and Robert Lynn Campbell.Survivors include wife, Reba Campbell; son, Martin Lee Campbell; brothers, Kimsey "Kim" Campbell, and Don Campbell; sister, Helen Campbell Rippy.Funeral services: at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 13, 2012, at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.
