John M. "Jack" Martin, 85, of Chattanooga, died Saturday July 7, 2012.He was a native of Chattanooga, and was born May 13, 1927. He attended Lookout Mountain Elementary and City High School. He thoroughly enjoyed the University of Virginia and graduated from the University of Chattanooga. During his lifetime Jack actively served Junior Achievement, Senior Neighbors and St. Barnabas. He was a partner with the Fletcher Bright Company.Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Magruder and William Augustin Martin; and brother, William Magruder Martin. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Elder Martin; sons, Cliff (Karen) Martin, John (Elizabeth) Martin, Garrison (Carol) Martin all of Lookout Mountain; and daughter, Alice (Everett) Cramer, of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, James Bryan (Mary) Martin; 10 grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews. The Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 211 Franklin Road, Lookout Mountain.
