Steven Alan Clark, 60, former Chattanooga resident, died peacefully at home on Saturday, July 14, 2012, six months following his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.A passion for orchestral music led Clark to study organ at age 11, then pursue a bachelors degree in organ and a masters in choral conducting from the University of Tennessee. His career included serving as organist-choirmaster at six churches in Tennessee and Florida. In the mid-1990s, Clark earned his massage therapy degree/license and continued this practice, part time, until May 2012. He served in a number of leadership roles in the American Guild of Organists and held the AGO Choirmaster Certificate.Preceded in death by his mother, Libby Clark, his survivors are his wife, Donna; daughters, Sharon Calvert and Susan Walker; grandchildren, Julia Calvert and Jack Augustine; father, Joe Clark and four younger siblings, Warren Clark, Catherine Nance, Alice Marie Danks and Barbara Clark. Other immediate relatives include one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and seven nephews.A memorial service with Holy Eucharist and inurnment of ashes will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at Christ Church (Episcopal) Cathedral, 900 Broadway, Nashville.
