Deborah June Clark Lay, made her transition from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Maudell Clark.Survivors are her husband, Norman L. Lay, Sr.; daughter, Nicole (Richard) Horton, of Chattanooga; son, Norman (Chantay) Lay, Jr., of Dalton; stepson, Fredrick Davis, of Calhoun; four grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth Ann Clark, of Jamaica, N.Y., Billy Clark, of Kensington, Mary Ballanger, of Chattanooga, and Sharon (Michael) Mathis, of Chickamauga; three brothers, Robert (Alene) Careathers, ofLaFayette, Clifford Clark, Jr., of Kensington, and James (Vickie) Clark, of Summerville.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24 at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Pastor William Tramble and other ministers officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the church from noon until the funeral hour.The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.Interment at Garmany Memorial Gardens.Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Dalton.
