Dr. Dr. Therman Parks Hudson, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012, at his home.He was born in Lincoln County, Tenn., on March 7, 1920, the son of James Berry and Monia B. Hudson, and was raised in Huntsville, Ala., and had lived in the Rossville-Chattanooga area for more than 70 years.He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1938 and was a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa. He had practiced chiropractic in Rossville for 48 years, retiring Jan. 1, 2000.He was a member and Trustee of Frawley Road Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the 57th Combat Engineers overseas with 42 months in the Pacific Theater, and was honorably discharged as a Master Sargent.He was very active in the Masonic Bodies, having served as Master of Brainerd Lodge #736 F&AM, Illustrious Master of Rossville Council 69, RSM, High Priest Rossville Chapter 149, RAM, Eminent Commander, Charles Martel Commander 29, Knights Templar, Knight York Cross of Honor, a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, having served as Almoner for 20 years, Potentate of Alhambra Shrine in 1978, also serving as Treasurer for 26 years. He was a Past Director of Chapter 39 ROJ, Past Sovereign St. Gregory Conclave Red Cross of Constantine. He was a Knight Mason of Gaelic Council 60, Knight Masons, a member of Chattanooga #540 National Sojourners and Heroes of '76; he was a Past Patron of Sunnyside Chapter 359, O.E.S. and served as Grand Sentinel of Grand Chapter in 1986.He was preceded in death by his Parents, three brothers and several sisters.He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Billie Colston Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Billie Ruth and Kenneth Beebe; grandson, Christopher A. Harris, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and two great-grandchildren, special friends of the family, Farron and Anita and their daughter, Kayley.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Dean officiating. Following the service Masonic rites will be conducted in the chapel by Brainerd Lodge #736.Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Fred J. Oliver, Emory Morris, Vance Boone, Bob Hope, Daryl Isham, Don Holman, Jim Arnhart and Evan Powell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Past Potentates of Alhambra Shrine and Tin Lizzies.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Frawley Road Baptist Church Building Fund or Childrens Transportation Fund-Alhambra Shrine.The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
