KNOXVILLE Mary Carol Harvey, 79, formerly of Griffin, Ga., passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012, in Knoxville.She was born Sept. 13, 1932 in Griffin, Ga., the daughter of the late Ellis and Hettie Colquitt. Carol was a loving wife, married in 1949 to the late Herschel Harvey Jr. for 62 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, the mother of four sons, and owned a gift shop on Signal Mountain. She volunteered for many years at Erlanger Hospital and worked at Sams Club in Knoxville.She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Colquitt and Hettie Colquitt Hicks; stepfather, Herbert Hicks; husband, Herschel Harvey Jr.; and brother, David Colquit.She is survived by her sons, Scott Harvey, Reed Harvey and wife, Felicia, Neal Harvey and wife, Stephanie, Ben Harvey and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Jessica Harvey, Ellen Harvey, Mark Harvey, Carol Harvey, Hunter Hicks, Taylor Harvey, Luke Harvey and Erin Harvey.A memorial service will be held at the familys convenience.Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.All arrangements by Clinch Mountain Chapel and Crematory.
