RINGGOLD C L Akers, 77, died Saturday July 28, 2012 in a local hospital. Mr. Akers was a lifelong resident of the Apison and Ringgold area and was of the Methodist Faith.He was a son of the late Clifford and Mae Akers and was retired from T.L. Bain Furniture Company in Fort Oglethorpe.Mr. Akers was preceded in death by a daughter Donna Stanfield; brothers Odell Akers, Leonard Akers and Loyd Stafford; Sisters Helen Hill, Ruby Armstrong, and Deatt Langston.Survivors include daughters Judy Edmondson and Teresa Smiddy, of Rossville; granddaughters Lori Edmondson and Cheri Smiddy; great-granddaughters Megan and Bonnie Smiddy.A Private service will be conducted at a later date.There will be no visitation at the funeral home.Arrangemments by Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
