LaFAYETTE Ruby Lanier Richardson, 92, went to be with her Lord Friday July 27, 2012, at her home.Member of New Harvest Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Mathew and Elizabeth Mitchell Lanier; her husbands, Willard F. Thompson and Thomas Arnold Richardson; and her brothers and sisters, Wallace Lanier, Georgia, Roy, J.C., Louise, Imogene and Edna.Mrs. Ruby loved God and her family above all else. She enjoyed cooking, working in her yard, reading and ceramics. She enjoyed gospel singing and attending church. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. For the last four years of her life, she was blessed to have a faithful and loving companion, Brenda Philpot. Rubys adventures included three trips to Alaska.Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Willene and Mike Gladu, Anchorage, Alaska, sons, Larry Thompson, Summerville, Randy Thompson, Blue Ridge, Ga.; grandchildren, Ronnie and Scott Thompson, Sabrina Luallen, Sharon and Craig Roberson, Kelly Thompson and Holly Watts; great-grandchildren, Byron Thompson, Emily and Cole Luallen, Nicky and Patrick Kuemper and Chase Watts; several nieces and nephews.Funeral was from the Wallis Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday. Service conducted by Rev. Dewey Blalock and Rev. Ricky Studdard.Pallbearers are Kenneth Kell, Bobby Lanier, Timmy Tucker, Marvin Edgeman, Ryan Drennon and Billy Wood.Interment in LaFayette Memory Garden.The arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home of LaFayette.
