Jr.ROSSVILLE Russell Walter Higdon Jr., 76, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012.He was born on Lookout Mountain, Ga., and has been a lifelong resident of Northwest Georgia. He worked at Tarvers Exxon Station for over 25 years as a mechanic. He was a member of Lookout Mountain Missionary Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his father, Russell W. Higdon Sr.; sister, Judy Curtis; brothers, Marvin and Stanley Higdon.He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lexie Castle Higdon, of Rossville; mother, Lillian Idell McDonald Higdon, of LaFayette, Ga.; daughters: Nancy Ann Roberts, of Ringgold, Ga., Rosalie Higdon, of Rossville; son, Joseph Higdon, of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; grandchildren, Katie Barnes, Holly Dowis; great-grandchildren, Briar Barnes, Jacob Dowis; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. graveside today at Mount Olive Cemetery on Lookout Mountain, Ga. with Rev.
