GAINESVILLE Josephine "Jody" Bacon Law passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012.Jody was born on Oct. 28, 1941, in Knoxville, and she graduated from Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, before continuing to the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority and made many incredible friendships there that lasted throughout her life.Jody was a bright and shining light and had a contagious zest for life. She was accessible and available to those who knew her and she had an ability to make everyone around her feel valued. Jody loved to laugh, dance, travel and spend time with her family and friends.She taught us how to live and then, most recently, how to die with grace and peace which was a wonderful gift to all who love her.Her father, Pryor Ernest Bacon Sr.; and her daughter, Sally Mulkey, preceded Jody in death.She is survived by her husband, Harold Vandigriff Law; her mother, Josephine Coffin Bacon; her daughters and sons-in-law, Meg and Matt Gallagher and Jeannine and Michael Callahan and her grandchildren, Jack Gallagher (19), Kate Callahan (18), Meg Callahan (16), Sam Gallagher (14), Sally Callahan (14), Grace Gallagher (11) and Mary Michael Callahan (9); her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and Pat Smart, Helen Bess and Allen Yates; and brother and sister-in-law, Pryor and Julie Bacon; her stepchildren and grandchildren, Griff, Nikki, Van and Emmy Law and Ferrell Law; uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special friends, who truly loved to spend time together any chance they could. The family wishes to thank all of Jodys friends for the countless ways they blessed her life. Especially, Starlet Jones, Julia Cromartie, Leigh Garrett and K.K. Cooper, who never left her side.
