PISGAH Morris Eldridge "Big L" Heard, 68, died Monday, June 11, 2012 at Gadsden Riverview Hospital. Mr. Heard was a member of Unity Baptist Church, the Masons and was preceded in death by parents, William Sherman and Jewell Lorene Wilbanks Heard; sister, Gaynell Heard Reel; and granddaughter, Bridgett Heard.Survivors include, wife, Joyce Roach Heard; sons, Jason Heard (Jana), Dennis Heard (Amanda); step-son, Edward Brown (Michelle); grandchildren, Bre, Brantley, Bo, Briley, Elizabeth and Emma; step-grandchildren, Austin, Garrett and Josh; brothers, Larry Heard (Barbara), Earl Heard (Wanda), Billy Heard (Rhenne tta), Dale Heard (Vicki), Wayne Heard (Elaine), Melvin Heard and Donald Heard; brother-in-law, Edward Reel; step-sisters, Dot Dyer (Clifford), Duma Slivers (Gene). Funeral services are Friday June 15, at 1 p.m. at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gerald Green and Bro. Bud Durham officiating and burial in New Hope cemetery.Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. CST today 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday June 14, and 10 a.m. until service time on Friday, June 15.
