RINGGOLD Clayton Tilden McDaniel 85, joined his Heavenly Father on May 24, 2012, after a short illness.He was born July 30, 1926 to Ira Tilden and Florence Cook Mr. McDaniel and was a lifelong resident of Catoosa County.Clayton was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a former member of Ringgold United Methodist Church for 58 years and had attended Flintstone Baptist Church and been a member of the Men's Bible Class.He was employed for 28 years at Combustion Engineering Company. Clayton served his country during World War II. He had served on the Catoosa County School Board and the Election Board of Catoosa County. He had volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House since 1990.He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Annie Lou Ward McDaniel; sister, Edna M. Hendon; and brother Grady W. McDaniel. He is survived by his wife Norma Jean Rosser Stapp McDaniel; son, Stephen B.(Judy Payne) McDaniel. Ringgold, Malinda S. (Bruce) Cawthorne of Cumming, Ga., Helen R. Davis (Chris) Ringgold; grandchildren, Derek (Stacy Stewart) and Nathan McDaniel, Clay (Tiffany Eddingfield) and David (Laura Benton) Brooks, Elizabeth Patty Cherry (Greg) of Cumming, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Drew and Annie McDaniel, Hannah Brooks, Annabelle and Emmaline Cherry.; sister, Minnie Ruth Edwards; Jean's children, Janet Stapp Gilley (Michael), Gina Stapp Jones (Shawn), of Chattanooga; and grandchildren, Brandon, Marcus, Graham and Kayli Jones, all of Chattanooga.Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Wallace McGill and Mark Harrison officiating.Interment in Anderson Memorial Gardens.Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Barger, Raymond Beasley, Paul Schrader, and Bill Combs, and members of the Mens Bible Class at Flintstone Baptist Church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 200 Central Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37403, Children's Home Chambliss Shelter, 315 Gillespie Road, Chattanooga, TN 37411 or Christ United Methodist.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort with the family.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway,.
