Muriel J. Sammons, 42, of Chattanooga, transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012.Her grandfathers Charlie Richard and Leonard Jackson Sr. preceded her in death.Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Anthony "Tony" Sammons; and son, Richard Sammons both of Chattanooga; son, Christopher (Febi) Sammons, of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Dessalyn Sammons; mother, Charlotte (Robert) Young; father, Leonard Jackson Jr. all of Chattanooga; brother, Mark Jackson of Knoxville; and sister, Marsha (Curtis) Drake; grandmothers, Mildred Jackson and Evelyn Richard, all of Chattanooga; sisters-in-law, Jewel Bynum, of Boston, Mass., Debra Bynum and Cynthia Covington; brother-in-law, Willie (Talitha) Bynum, all of Chattanooga; uncles, Ralph Lillian, of Chicago, Ill., James Richard, William Richard and Wayne Jackson; aunt, Glenda Jackson; special cousins, Gloria McElroy and Renata Ramsey all of Chattanooga; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the E. P. Crutcher Scholarship Fund of Greater Tucker Missionary Baptist Church.Funeral services will be held at the Greater Tucker Missionary Baptist Church at noon Saturday.Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Gardens.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.. today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
