Blanche Ione McDonald Crowe, 83, of Chattanooga passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 in a local hospital. She was a member of East Ridge Baptist Church and the Naomi Sunday School Class. She was valedictorian of Lumpkin County High School and attended North Georgia College. She taught elementary school at Riverview Elementary School, taught Typing at Chattanooga State College, worked for 10 years as Medical Librarian at Erlanger Hospital and retired as Medical Librarian with Moccasin Bend Hospital. She was a member of the State of Tennessee Medical Librarian Association and the National Medical Librarian Association.She was preceded in death by her husband, George Jeffery Crowe, Sr. Survivors include her three children, Joan Ellen Crowe, Sara Ann (Charlie Ray) Hodge and George Jeffery Crowe, Jr.; five grandchildren, Timothy Byron (Cindy) Crusing, Jason Barrett Crusing, John William (Keishawn) Crusing, Susan Nicole (Phillip) Crane and Katie Danielle Crowe; three great-grandchildren, Timothy Scott Crusing, Jessica Lauren Crusing and Priscilla Colette Crusing; one sister-in-law, Sarah (Mark) Barker; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to East Ridge Baptist Church, the Library of Congress, Paralyzed Veterans of America or the Wounded Warriors Project.
