Betty Jenkins


CLEVELAND Betty Royse Jenkins, 74, formally of Chattanooga passed away on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 15, 2012 after a lengthy and brave battle with cancer at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She spent most of her life in Chattanooga but had lived in Cleveland in recent years where she was an active member of the Tasso United Methodist Church. Betty graduated from Chattanooga High School. She was employed by Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company and was retired from TVA.She is preceded in death by her parents Ezra and Irene Royse; and a sister Kathleen Hilliard.Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 55 years, Don R. Jenkins; a son Michael (Carmen) Jenkins and a daughter Julie Jenkins Lynskey, both of Chattanooga; five grandchildren Alexis, Zach, Madison and Tanner Jenkins and Matthew Lynskey also all of Chattanooga; a brother Kenneth (Paulette) Royse, of Chattanooga; and several other nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.A celebration of her life will be held on Monday night, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Tasso United Methodist Church located at 1106 Tasso Road NE in Cleveland, TN 37312 with the Reverend Richard L. Hayes officiating.
