Bobby McCampbell


SOUTH PITTSBURG Bobby Joe McCampbell, 70, passed away at his home in Townsend, Tenn., on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimers.Born in South Pittsburg, on Nov. 15, 1942, he graduated from South Pittsburg High School and went on to graduate from Tennessee Tech University with a degree in Business Administration. He began his work career with Kroger in Knoxville, later moving to a career in sales in Anniston, Ala.,, where he became a member of Gladeview Baptist Church. He retired ten years ago and moved back to the mountains. Bobby will be remembered for his gentle nature and wonderful sense of humor.He was preceded in death by his father, Joe R. McCampbell; and two nephews, Adam and Andrew Hughes.Survivors include his mother, Lucille W. McCampbell; sister and brother-in-law, Linda M. and J. Russell Smith; niece, Lora S. (Frank) Graham and great-nephew, Damien Hughes.The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012.Graveside services will follow at 1:15 p.m. at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobbys memory to the Alzheimers Association of Tennessee, 200 Prosperity Drive, Knoxville, TN 37923.
