Charles Crabtree


Sr.FLINTSTONE Charles Lee "Charlie" Crabtree Sr., 82, passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, in a local hospice facility.A native and lifelong resident of Chattanooga Valley, Charlie was the owner and operator of Crabtree Service Center in Flintstone for 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, a charter member of the Chattanooga Valley Lions Club and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Crabtree was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Florence Crabtree; brother, Gilbert Martin Crabtree; and sister, Helen Lovella Jones.Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Renee Crabtree, of Flintstone; grandchildren, Bethany and Lee Crabtree; stepchildren, Wanda Carter and Steve Boyd; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Minister Larry Gordy officiating.Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.To share your expressions of sympathy, visit family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
