Rosa Hixon


ROSSVILLE Rosa Lee Hixon, 72, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Rossville area. She had been a seamstress by trade for many years, and after her retirement she became a caregiver for several people and hospitals. Her passions in life were her family, decorating for the holidays, and she simply had a big heart with a love for people.She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin Hixon; two children, Betty Jean Henley and Cleo Quarles; and grandson, John Henley.Survivors include her three children, Charles Quarles, of Rossville, Anna Yancey, of Chickamauga, and Linda Bray, of Rossville; two sisters, Florence Bankston, of Chickamauga and Kathleen Ellis, of Rossville; grandchildren, Keisha Jean Quarles (Dennis Skyles Sr.), Keith Quarles, Michael Burkhart, Douglas Brown, Taylor Brown, Greg Yancey and Allan Yancey; great-grandchildren, Dennis Skyles Jr., Braden Skyles and Damian Burkhart; and several other great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Condolences may be sent to services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Jim Bennett officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
