, Sr.Thomas C. Smith, Sr., of Chattanooga, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012. He would have been 100 years old this coming December.Mr. Smith was a long-time member of Unity Baptist Church in East Ridge, a member of the Local Boilermakers Union, and retired from Brock & Blevins Company of Rossville, Ga.He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Smith; daughter, Willi Johnson; a son, Tommy (Elaine) Smith, Jr.; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.Surviving are his daughters, Fran (Bill) Hunter and Doris (Kenneth Sr.) Rogers; daughter-in-law, Rosa Smith; Grandchildren, Kenny (Leanne) Rogers, Jr., Richard (Leigh) Rogers, Angela Rogers, Steaven (Suzanne) Rogers Sr., Camille Holloway, Jackie Washburn, Mark Smith, Shannon Bertoni, Susan McAlister, Sandi Vines and Bryan Johnson. He had 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.Visitation will be at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on South Terrace from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, and 10 a.m. to Noon on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012.Services will be at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist.
