George Fara, 84, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012.George was born in West Virginia, but spent most of his life in the Hamilton County area. He was a member of the Hixson Presbyterian Church and Gideons International. George, a retired chemist, was also a member of the American Chemical society for over 50 years.George served our country in the U.S. Army. George was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lussorio and Crocetta Lancianse Fara; and his brothers and sisters.George is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Ann Fara; daughter, Trish (Jay) Clark; sons, Randy (Shirley) Fara and Sam (Deborah) Fara; grandchildren, Kathryn Fara, Randy Fara, Josh Clark, Scott Clark, Morgan Clark; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service, today, Sept. 8, at the North Chapel.Funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. today, Sept. 8, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Johnson Officiating.
