Sr.,Charles Andy Cronon Sr., 75, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Charles was the retired President of Cleveland Metalworks, Inc., formerly Chattanooga Sheetmetal. Charles was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Oct. 10, 1936 to the late Willie Nelson and Ella Mae Cronon. Mr. Cronon was a former President of The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers; former President of the Mechanical Contractors Engineers Association, Hospital engineers Association, Administrative Management Society and was President of SMACNA. He was also involved in the Chattanooga Golden Gloves Association, Dixie Youth Baseball; Chairman of the Sheetmetal Apprenticeship Committee and Vice-President of Lookout Valley Jaycees. He was a member of Harrison Masonic Lodge 114, Scottish Rite and Alhambra Shrine. He was a member of Bayside Baptist Church.Charles was elected Jaycees Young Man of the Year, 1970 and Keyman in 1969.He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers and his grandson, Ronald Scott Payne.Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Monday Cronon; son, Chuck (Wendy) Cronon and daughters, Rhonda (Glen) Austin and Allison (John) Woodall; brother, Roy D. Cronon; sister, Virginia (Piney) Ramey; four grandchildren, Andy (Amy) Cronon, Katie Cronon, Mac (Kellie) Cronon and Lexie Woodall; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Charles will also be missed by two special sisters-in-law, Geneva Monday and Lorene Monday White.The family will receive friends today, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the North Chapel. A graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 14, at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Bob Stitts and Ron Grant officiating.
