Reece Davis Mills, 85, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012.Mr. Mills was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS Fremont during WWII. He retired from DuPont after 32 years of service and was a 32nd-degree mason.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Reeca Mills; parents, Harry and Ruth Mills; and sister, Betty Planzer.Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Mills; son, Don (Lee Ann) Mills; brothers, Morris (Ella) Mills and Sam (Velma) Mills; sister, Beverly (Bill) Heard, all of Soddy-Daisy; grandchildren, Victoria Mills, of Knoxville and Davis Mills, of Signal Mountain. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mitch McClure officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Navy.
