Nancy Ray


LaFAYETTE Nancy Belle Fleming Ray, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012.She was born to the late Grover and Ada Fleming on Feb. 19, 1918 in Gaylesville, Ala. She was a charter member of New Harvest Baptist Church and she enjoyed nature, quilting, sewing and crafts, but most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Allen Ray; brothers, Willie, Ellis and Hugh Fleming.Survivors include eight children and their spouses, Nancy Marie and Jimmy Green, of Summerville, Margaret Aline and Kenny White, of LaFayette, Wilma Jean Brown, of Rock Spring, Patricia Lynnell and Darrell Sosebee, of LaFayette, Bobbie Sue and Ronald Railey, of LaFayette, Pamela Ann and Danny Sosebee, of Rossville, Cheryl Anita and David Parham, of LaFayette, David Allen Ray, of LaFayette, Brother, Van Fleming, of Chatsworth; 30 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ricky Studdard officiating.
