Charles G. Moore, 87, High Point, died Saturday Sept. 22, 2012 in a local hospital.He was a native of Harrison Tenn., and has lived in High Point Community for the past 51 years. Mr. Moore was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp., having served in Bougainville, Guam and Iwo Jima. He was selected to represent the state of Georgia at the dedication of the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. Mr. Moore was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was retired from Chattanooga Coke and Chemical Company after 39 years of service and was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church where he was a Deacon.Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his first wife Lena Dolores Shipley Moore; and two brothers Clarence and Troy Moore.Survivors are his wife Juanita Perry Moore; sons David Moore, of Charleston, Tenn., Charles ( Randy ) Moore, of Harrison, Tenn., Michael Moore, of Cooper Heights, Ga., and Gary Moore, of Morrison, Tenn.; daughter Brenda Blackwell, of Chickamauga; sisters, Anna Lea Hise, of Rising Fawn, Dewey Mae Hanning and Louise Picklesimer, of Harrison and Johnnie Van Gelderen, of Chattanooga; Seventeen grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Josh Brown and Rev. Jeff Brown officiating.
