Bessie Walton Larkin, passed peacefully Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at the age of 96. She was born Feb. 3, 1916.She was a resident of Citrus Health & Rehab in Inverness, Fla. Bessie was a member of Parkway Baptist Temple in Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., since 1980, a friend of First Presbyterian Church in Inverness, Fla., and a member of the Eastern Star. She was famous for her cooking, loved gardening, gospel music, and visiting with family and friends. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Pryor Larkin; sisters, Jessie Templeton, Pearl Keys, Estelle Gowan, Alice Luster; brother Oscar Walton and son-in-law, Charles Croswell. She will forever be remembered by her children, Bob and Carole Larkin, Wayne and Marguerite Larkin, James and Maria Larkin, Ann Croswell, Wanda and Layton Bennett; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; treasured nieces, nephews, and friends.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, in the funeral home chapel conducted by Pastor David Sampson and the eulogy given by her granddaughter, Tracye Foy. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta, GA.Viewing will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
