Alfred Calvin Copeland, 77, passed away Friday Dec. 6, 2013 in the Hospice Care Center. He was formerly employed by Bell South. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Julia Copeland; sisters, Maudis and Mildred. Survivors include his wife, Helen Shell Copeland; sons, Calvin (Benita) Copeland, of Forrest City, Ark., Alfred J. Copeland, of Augusta, Ga., Kenneth (Pheloundashea) Copeland, of Stone Mountain, Ga., Dennis K. Copeland, of Ellenwood, Ga., and Joseph Christopher Austin, of Chattanooga; daughters, Catherine Copeland White, Edna Covington, both of Chattanooga, and Shirley Moss, of New York; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, James (Della) Copeland, of Stockbridge, Ga.; sisters, Florrie Barlow, of Chattanooga and Otha May Askew, of LaGrange, Ga.; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; special friends, Sandra Ramsey, Bobbie Howard and many other friends. Visitation is today from 2-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday Dec. 15, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Steven Bearden as the eulogist. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery.
