Chris Landis

Chris Landis passed away on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013. He was a devoted husband, father and son that left this earth too soon. He leaves behind a beautiful daughter, Avery Grace and a crazy wife, Kittie Landis. He is also survived by his parents, Jeanette and Albert Landis; sister and brother-in-law, Brianne and Josh O'Dell; grandparents, Janet and Albert Landis; as well as many devoted friends and family that will miss him terribly. Chris was an avid music fan and loved outdoor festivals. He traveled all over the country to see his favorite bands and was so excited to share his love of music with his daughter. He was a snob about food. He loved to cook to show his love and all of us were so happy to partake of whatever creation he concocted. However he was not a snob about his choice of adult beverage with that being Miller Light. God love him. He graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis with a degree in Psychology and received his masters degree from the University of Memphis. He was so proud to have graduated from both of these fine universities. He recently began working with Foundations Recovery Nashville as the Director of Outpatient Services. He previously was with Hermitage Hall in Nashville and Lakeside in Memphis. His favorite hobby outside of his family was paintball with his black kharma team. The camaraderie he shared with them brought a huge smile to his face and he looked forward to spending time with those crazy guys. Chris loved to tell people that he was doing things backwards with his wife. They met in 2009, bought a house, had a beautiful little girl then got married two months ago. One of his favorite people was his sister. They were 11 years apart and she made him laugh like no one else. He enjoyed teasing her and making sure she knew that he was the big brother. His mom and dad are beyond devastated with this loss. As are we all. Visitation will be held on 4:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Martin Center, located at 960 Heritage Way in Brentwood, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation to Lovies Legacy in Nashville or your local pet rescue center in Chris's memory. Please sign the online guestbook at 615-377-0775.
