Jerry Dickson, 78, passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at his home. Jerry was the proud owner of Chattanooga Valley Used Cars and Parts, which he founded in 1960. He enjoyed collecting antique Ford automobiles and was an active member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the National Ford V-8 Club (north GA chapter). He had a passion for automobile racing and enjoyed watching his sons race. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man of great integrity and compassion both personally and professionally. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dot and Roy Dickson Sr.; his brother, Roy "Red" Dickson Jr., and his nephew, Roy Dickson III. Jerry is survived by his wife, Patricia Jacks Dickson; three sons, Jerry (Phyllis) Dickson Jr., Gar (Fran) Dickson, Roger (Billie) Dickson; and daughter, Suzanne (Mark) Vaughn. He is also survived by his siblings, Patsy Renegar, Rosemary Cheeck and Jim Dickson; five grandchildren, Dirk Lee Dickson, Dustin Dickson, Dianna Dickson, Danielle Dickson, Drew Vaughn; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today, Dec. 18, 2013, at Wilson Funeral Home located at 555 W. Cloud Springs Rd, Rossville, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Chattanooga as a token of appreciation for the excellent care they provided. Arrangements by W.L.
