Rich grew up in the Brainerd area and attended Boyd Buchanan School from kindergarten and graduated in 1986. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was employed at the Lamp Post Group. Survivors include his beloved wife and soul mate Sally; his sons Elijah and Aaron; parents Harold and June Hughes; brother Hunter; and sister-in-law Mary Hughes; niece Gabby and nephew Wyatt Hughes all of Chattanooga. He will be desperately missed by all his family and friends. Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, in the funeral home chapel. The family would like to thank the Rhea Medical Center, Nurse Lisa, and the police and firefighters who fought so valiantly to save our Rich and was with him in his final moments on this earth.
