GALLATIN Betty Langston Hawkins, 79, formerly of Signal Mountain, died on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.Born April 26, 1933 in Montgomery, Ala.; was preceded in death by parents, Dr. Manly Frost "Snow" Langston and Gladys Rickles Langston; and brother, Dr. M.F. "Buddy" Langston Jr.She grew up on Signal Mountain, graduated from Chattanooga "City" High School, and graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.Survived by husband, James W. Hawkins of Gallatin; four sons; their spouses; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson; brother, Dr. James W. Langston and his wife, Elizabeth, of Memphis; and sister-in-law, Ann Langston, of Larkspur, Calif.Online condolences may be made at CaringBridge.org at the site for "betty-hawkins".In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Missions Fund, 149 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066, or to a non-profit charitable organization of your choice.Memorial service set for 3:30 p.m. today, Feb. 7, at First United Methodist Church in Gallatin. Visitation with the family at the church from 1-3 p.m.
