Mary Ella Winchester Griffith, 87, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2013.She was born on Jan. 10, 1926, in Chattanooga. She was a member of White Oak Church of Christ and retired from the Tennessee Department of Human Services with 40 years of service.She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Grady Winchester; mother, Bertha Richie Winchester; and brother, Charles Winchester.Survivors include her children, Gail (Jim) Fischbach, of Chattanooga, June (Steve) Bowling, of Chattanooga, Delton (Rhonda) Griffith, of Signal Mountain and Lynn (Greg) Lewis, of Nashville; grandchildren, Dana Fulmer, Teresa Matheny, Mark Daughtrey, Bart Bowling, Sara Griffith, Andy Lewis and Stephen Lewis; great-grandchildren: Matthew Harvey, D.J. Matheny, Zach Matheny, Matthew Adams, Hunter Daughtrey, Nicholas Daughtrey; several nieces and nephews.Thank you to Martin Boyd Christian Home, Regency House on Hamill Road and Red Bank Life Care for your gentle and kind care.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Minister James Eaton officiating.Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
